Eye in essentially focused on graphic design. However, its publishers have realized that the name “graphic design” may no longer be adequate. Certainly, the very nature of graphic design has been irrevocably altered by technology and digital media. The publishers of Eye have made the decision to broaden the scope of the magazine’s content. One of the areas that has not been covered in Eye is film. There are many articles and books about design history and design pioneers and innovators available to the young designer. But little has new media, the study (or at least, the awareness) of the sources of filmic metaphors and poetics is becoming increasingly relevant.
